We’re excited to advance Driver Impairment Detection with the launch of Release 2.0 of our Continuous Monitoring Software – a machine-learning–driven solution designed for seamless in-cabin driver monitoring infrastructure. Developed from the ground up with full compliance to ISO 26262 and MISRA guidelines, our software meets the highest standards of accuracy, safety, traceability, and quality for automotive-grade implementations.
Built on real data
Our software uses commonly available DMS signals to detect impairment related to alcohol and drug use in real time.
It’s trained on the world’s largest naturalistic driving dataset, collected under realistic conditions; with multiple DMS systems, camera placements, hardware configurations, lighting conditions, vehicle types and more – as well as a diverse set of drivers. This unique and proprietary data foundation ensures robust and accurate performance across a large distribution of input data.
“Driver impairment detection is inherently well suited to machine learning and very difficult to solve with rule-based approaches. But that suitability comes with a requirement: you need training data that reflects the real world. With naturalistic driving data collected across diverse conditions, Sightic can deliver robust driver impairment detection systems that work in the real world.”
– Daniel Gillblad, Board Member at Sightic
This foundation of real-world data is what enables the production-grade performance delivered in release 2.0.
“Naturalistic impairment data is rare in this field, and it’s what gives our model its strength. Real-world driving is full of variation – lighting, camera setups, driver behavior, and constantly changing traffic conditions, and this release is built to handle that complexity with consistent, production-ready performance.”
– Snjezana Simic, Vice President Automotive
Lightweight, Scalable, and Future-Proof
Built as a software-only, hardware-agnostic solution, our software runs efficiently on existing in-cabin infrastructure. It delivers industry-leading performance while maintaining a lightweight processing footprint – ideal for embedded environments and over-the-air updates. It’s both DMS- and camera-agnostic, ensuring broad compatibility and easy integration for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
Designed for Compliance and Industry Readiness
Fully aligned with Euro NCAP 2026 requirements, the software helps OEMs meet the next wave of in-cabin safety regulations while advancing driver impairment detection (alcohol & drug) and continuous AI-based monitoring.
